I hope you’ve been having a great year so far..? I started off my show year in February performing a 20 minute feature in the Sydney based production show “Back to the Tivoli”.
The tour started off at the popular Brisbane venue “Kedron Wavell RSL” where I have done many shows over the years. The next two shows were at the “Twin Towns” main show room at the Gold Coast. Both days were packed and it was great to have such a fun and interactive audience. Last year I performed at the “Breezes Lounge” You can see my full show at Twin Towns later on this year with piano accordion virtuoso Domenico Taraborrelli on Tuesday September 20th at 11.30am. After Twin Towns we hit the road and traveled to Toowoomba and the iconic “Empire Theatre”. This beautiful venue was once an old picture theater, it has been faithfully restored and seats almost a 1000 people.
Next up I ventured back to the ships after a few months break and did three in a row starting off with the Carnival Spirit sailing from Noumea to Sydney. Then Sydney to Fiji on The Voyager of the Seas and finally hopping on the Golden Princess in my home town of Brisbane where I did 5 days up the Queensland coast cruising through the Great Barrier Reef where I got off in Darwin and flew home. I’ll be back cruising in November performing for the first time on the Royal Caribbean ship “Ovations of the Seas” from Busan to Okinawa in Japan.
In between my cruising I did another feature show at Kedron RSL in Brisbane plus a really fun corporate show at the Gold Coast Convention Centre in June for Cetnaj. This show was really special as the line up of Australian artists was a mile long. The event was the 40th birthday of Cetnaj a wholesale lighting company, let me tell you, they know how to put on a party!! I was the second act after Australian Idol contestant Paulini, who I also shared a dressing room with. My performance lasted 10 minutes with a high impact choreographed performance of “Explosive” by six female dancers from SJJ Creative. We were all then ambushed by abseiling bush rangers who grabbed us and escorted us off the stage. I am not sure what that was all about but it was certainly different and FUN!!!!!!!
Coming up on Friday August 19th I will be doing a feature spot at a VIP fashion parade, at “Spicers Hidden Vale” in the Lockyer Valley near Toowoomba. This special event is being put together by the one and only “BUBBLE DIVA”. Amanda Reboul from Brisbane will be hosting this special weekend of indulgence and fun visit her website for all the details and bookings http://www.effervescence.com.au/vip-package/.
That’s all from your Australian String Diva.
